Today we are going to see 8 Cyber Security Tactics that one should follow in this internet era.

1. Pay Attention to the warnings your browser is flashing on your screen.

When we try to open any link we should see that website is using HTTP or HTTPS protocol. If you see LOCK on the screen in Search Bar then assume that this website is using HTTPS protocol. it will look like this.

When you open any HTTP website browser will give you a warning that “ Your connection is not private” Browser will give you two choices go back to safety or Advance.

2. Have a Different UNIQUE PASSWORD for every Account.

People use the same passwords for every account. Like people will use the same password for Gmail and the same password will be used for Facebook.

Try to create a Different Password for every Account. Do not use the same password that you used for some other website.

3. Keep PASSWORDS though enough to guess that even your near and dear one couldn’t figure out.

While creating passwords do not use FirstName, LastName, DOB, or anything that can be guessed by anyone.

Try to create at least 12 characters long passwords that include Capital Letter, Small Letters, Digits, Special Character.

Example: Th1s1sG00dExmp!e

4. Do Not CLICK ON Any Links that’s arrive in any unsolicited EMAIL.

Most of the phishing attacks happen via Emails that contain some unknown URLs and most of the time we tend to click on any links that come in an email.

Do No Click on ANY LINKS that come in the email. Only click on the links when you know the source of the author.

5. KEEP your business ACCOUNTS separate from the personal account.

Many times people tend to use a personal account for business purposes. Keep a separate account for business purposes and for personal uses.

6. CHANGE Your PASSWORD Often

Most of the people keep the same password for a long period of time. It’s advisable that you should change your password after a few months.

When you change your password after every few weeks your account will have a lower risk to get a compromise. Just imagine you have created an account on the “ABC XYZ” website and that website faces data breach and most of the user’s passwords are now available to the hacker. You have a good habit of changing the password after a few weeks so now chances are less that your new password is with the hacker.

7. Do Note TAPE all of your passwords onto your monitor.

People tend to keep forgetting there password so what they do they write down the password on sticky notes and then TAPE it on the monitor. So now it’s visible to all people who are around you and they can use this password to do a malicious activity.

Save Password via PASSWORD MANAGER.

8. Back up your data regularly.

If possible take a backup of your data regularly. It’s a good habit to take regular data backups.
